Bullfrog A8 vs A8L: more seats or a lounger?

Choose the seats you will use most.

Picture an ordinary evening with the people who will use your spa regularly. If everyone prefers sitting upright and changing places during a conversation, start your shortlist with the A8. If someone wants to stretch out, include the A8L and try its lounge position before deciding. One layout does not fit every household.

Capacity is a useful comparison point, but it does not tell you how comfortable each person will feel. Ask the showroom to help you assess seat depth, foot space and entry. Bring the people who will use the tub most often. Where a wet test is available, ask to check whether the lounge supports you comfortably in the water.

The same shell size still needs a complete site plan.

The two models have the same published outside dimensions: 94 inches square and 38 inches high. That makes seating the first useful distinction when comparing the space occupied by the shell. Your usable patio area still needs to accommodate the cover, steps, service access and a comfortable route around the spa.

Measure the proposed location and photograph the delivery route from the street. Note gates, corners, slopes and overhead obstacles. Ask for the selected model’s current installation sheet before arranging a base or circuit. A shared footprint does not mean that every existing deck, patio or electrical installation is suitable.

Compare the same trim before comparing price.

Bullfrog lists four or six premium JetPak seats for these models, depending on trim. Ask the team to write the trim and selected JetPaks on each quote. Otherwise, a price difference can reflect equipment choices as well as the seating layout. Discuss the areas where you prefer massage and try the available seats rather than choosing from a jet total alone.

Confirm the cover, lifter, steps, water-care setup, taxes and any separately quoted work. A useful comparison makes it clear which difference belongs to the spa and which belongs to the project.
